JAMB Makes NIN Mandatory For UTME and Direct Entry Admission, states Reasons and Guidelines

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said the National Identity Number (NIN) is mandatory for students seeking admission into universities of their choice.

According to Source, JAMB spokesman Dr Fabian Benjamin, on Wednesday, said all potential candidates must provide their NIN at the point of registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration.

“This is mandatory for participation in the 2021 registration exercise,” Benjamin said while announcing that JAMB has commenced registration for 2021 exam,” Benjamin said.

“Registration will take place in 700 centres across the country; the list is available in all the state offices of JAMB and on its website at www.jamb.gov.ng.

Recall that the National Assembly has earlier asked the Federal Government to extend the deadline for the NIN following the restrictions brought about by the Covid 19 pandemic
