G7 Leaders Condemns Iran’s Revengeful Attack, Pledges Support to Israel
The Group of Seven (G7), which consists of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union, has issued a strong condemnation following Iran’s recent attack on Israel.
This response comes after Iran initiated a drone and missile assault over the weekend, which Israel claims to have largely intercepted.
According to reports, the attack was Iran’s response to a previous incident where Israel allegedly targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus, resulting in the deaths of several officers from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force. While Israel has not officially confirmed its involvement, it is widely believed to have orchestrated the strike.
In a statement released by the White House, the G7 leaders expressed their unwavering support for Israel, emphasizing the country’s right to security. They denounced Iran’s actions as a direct and unprecedented escalation that not only destabilizes the region but also risks sparking further uncontrollable conflicts.
The G7’s message was clear: Iran must halt its aggressive actions immediately. The leaders also highlighted their commitment to stabilizing the situation and preventing any further escalation. This includes intensifying efforts to resolve the crisis in Gaza, pushing for a sustainable ceasefire, securing the release of hostages held by Hamas, and boosting humanitarian aid to Palestinians in need.
