EPL: Man Utd reacts as FA charges Ronaldo with ‘violent conduct’

The Football Association’s decision to accuse Cristiano Ronaldo of “improper and/or violent” behaviour has prompted a response from Manchester United.

Following their 1-0 loss to Everton in April of last year, Ronaldo appeared to knock a phone out of a supporter’s hand.

Video captured the 37-year-old as he left the field and walked toward the tunnel, appearing to smash the phone.

United have now said they will support Ronaldo in response to the charge.

“We note the FA announcement in relation to Cristiano Ronaldo.

“We will be supporting the player in response to the charge,” United commented.

Ronaldo is currently away on international duty with Portugal.
