Eid-el-Kabir: Buhari Addresses Nigerians on Current Situations

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has stressed the importance of self-reliance in food production.

Speaking after attending Eid prayers with the Emir of Daura, Katsina State Dr. Faruk Umar Faruk, Buhari lauded the efforts of Nigerians who have turned to farming to mitigate rising food prices and ensure national food security.

Buhari emphasized that the country’s agricultural sector holds the key to reducing dependence on imported food, which often leads to economic instability.
He noted that increased food production would not only stabilize prices but also create jobs and support rural development.

In his remarks, Buhari encouraged more Nigerians to engage in farming and take advantage of various government initiatives designed to boost agricultural productivity. He highlighted the success stories of individuals and communities who have thrived by embracing modern farming techniques and practices.

Buhari’s call to action comes at a time when global food prices are soaring due to supply chain disruptions and climate change impacts.

He reiterated the need for a collective effort to enhance food security and make Nigeria self-sufficient in food production.

This was contained in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu, who urged citizens to heed the former president’s advice and work towards a more sustainable and secure food system for the nation.
