Ede Poly gets acting Rector
The Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State has announced the appointment of an Acting Rector, Engr. Dr Joseph Olawole Petinrin, following the expiration of the tenure of outgoing Rector, Dr. John Adekolawole.
This was announced by the Chairman, Governing Council, Air Cmdr Emmanuel Jekada mni Phd, at an interactive session with members of staff and subsequently communicated to the Polytechnic community through a letter signed by the Registrar & Secretary to the Governing Council, Alhaji Isiaka Tunji Agboola, the copy, which was made available by the Protocol, Media & Public Relations Officer, Sola Lawal, on Friday, in Osogbo.
According to the letter, the appointment takes effect from 3rd November, 2022 and lasts till the appointment of a substantive Rector or for a period of six months.
The statement read in part:” Sequel to the election for the position of the Acting Rector and in line with the provisions of the Federal Polytechnic (Amended) Act 2019. I am pleased to inform you that the Governing Council of the Polytechnic has approved your appointment as the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, with effect from 3rd November, 2022, pending the appointment of a substantive Rector or for a period of six months , whichever comes first”.
Recall that Petinrin, until his appointment was a Deputy Rector, Academics, from the Department of Electrical , Electronics Engineering of the Polytechnic.
