Chief Emeka Ezekwe Bids Father Farewell Amidst Pomp And Fanfare.
From Monday 17th to Thursday 20th January, 2022, Adazi-Nnukwu community was agog with activities as a result of the human and vehicular traffic as the clan Chief of Nnukwu clan of Adazi-Nnukwu community in Anambra state, Chief Simeon Ezekwe (Ezeana Ozomma), father of Chief Emeka Ezekwe (Ebubeagu N’eche Agu 1 of Anaocha) was buried.
The burial was one of massive celebration as the family of the dead clan chief ensured that the occasion was more of a celebration of the life of the dead chief than mourning. The burial was attended by a lot of dignitaries such as Nze na Ozo titleholders from far wide, political stalwarts, businessmen of repute, professionals of many fields, etc.
The burial saw the appearance of great and revered masquerades such as Ijele, Izaga, Ojionu, Akwumechenyi, Onyekulum, etc.
The ancient and historical dance of the Igbos, the egedege cultural dance, was also in display. The quintessential chief and a great traditional cum cultural promoter and supporter known all over Igbo land, the Eze Uzu 1 of Ichida, who happens to be a good friend of Chief Emeka Ezekwe was also present with his retinues to add glamour to the occasion and to condole with his friend.
Recall that Emeka Ezekwe who was recently bestowed with the title of Ebubeagu N’eche Agu 1 of Anaocha by the Anaocha local government council of Igwes (Kings) is the only son of the dead clan chief. It was gathered that he had promised his father a befitting burial and by all indications, he actually did as he had promised the old man.
