Breaking: IBB’s Son, Mohammed & family in Fatal Accident, 3 Soldiers Dead.(photos)

In recent times, Nigeria has witnessed a significant increase in accident involvement of upper class of the society. Recently the country was shocked by the fatal accident involving Pharaoh Okafigno, son of former senate president Okadigbo.

However, yesterday Monday, 1st June, 2021, the family of former Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida was involved in an accident on their way to Abuja from Niger state while they were still within the boundaries of Niger State.

Three soldiers out of their security detail died on the spot while one was critically injured after the convoy of family of Mohammed Babangida, son of former military Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd), had an accident on the Minna-Suleja Highway in Niger State.

According to SaharaReporters, Mohammed, who was travelling with his family to Abuja, narrowly escaped death as his convoy ran into an articulated vehicle loaded with tomatoes along the Minna-Suleja Road.

De Erudite Media gathered that the soldiers died in the accident after their black Prado SUV had a head-on collision with the articulated vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

According to eyewitnesses, Mohammed Babangida was travelling to Abuja in a Honda Space bus with other members of his family behind the security vehicle.

The witness said, “Three soldiers died and one was left critically injured as the convoy of Mohammed Babangida, the son of the former military Head of State was involved in the accident. He was travelling to Abuja in a Honda Space bus with other members of his family behind the security vehicle.

“No member of the Babangida family was hurt in the accident. The injured soldier is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital in Abuja,” an eyewitness told SaharaReporters.

The Niger State Police Command could not be reached for comment as at the time of filing this report.
