Bandit Kingpins, Sani Black, Kachalla Makore Killed In Zamfara

In a breakthrough in the fight against banditry in Zamfara State, two notorious bandit leaders, Sani Black and Kachalla Makore, have been confirmed killed along with 23 of their closest lieutenants.

The operations, conducted by personnel from the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG) and Nigerian troops, targeted the criminals in a joint operation.

The Senior Special Adviser to the Zamfara State Governor on Media and Communications, Alhaji Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, announced the developments, stating that Sani Black was killed on Sunday in Yar-Tasha village, while Kachalla Makore was eliminated on Tuesday in Kunkeli village, both situated in the Maru Local Government Area.

Kaura described the elimination of the bandit leaders as a pivotal moment in the ongoing battle against banditry, urging security forces to maintain their efforts until all banditry threats are eradicated.

He reassured the public of the state government’s unwavering commitment to combatting banditry and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in providing intelligence to security agencies.

He called on residents to assist law enforcement with any information that could lead to the arrest or elimination of bandits operating in their communities.

Kaura said, “After Sani Black was killed in an ambush at Yar’Tasha village on Sunday, September 22, 2024, his lieutenant Kachalla Makore mobilized his men on Tuesday, September 24 and headed to Yar-Tasha to recover Black’s corpse and avenge the attack.

“Fortunately, he too was ambushed and killed in Kunkeli village of Dansadau district, Maru local government.

“Black was killed alongside his eight closest lieutenants while Makore was killed together with his 15 foot soldiers.

“Makore had burnt an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and injured two soldiers during his encounter with security personnel in Kunkeli village.”
