Arsenal player, Pablo Mari and five other people have been reportedly stabbed.

Naija News learnt that the Spanish professional football player was among six people stabbed at a shopping mall today in Milan. Mari is currently on loan, playing as a centre-back for Serie A club, Monza. The 29-year-old according to reports, was immediately taken to the hospital after the incident for proper medical treatment. Sky Italy while giving an update on the player’s situation said Mari is conscious and Monza manager Raffaele Palladino planned to visit him on Thursday evening. Confirming the incident, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, who spoke after his side’s 2-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven on Thursday evening, said Mari ‘seems to be ok’. He said: “I know [club technical director] Edu has been in touch with his relatives. He is in hospital. He seems to be ok. I will get a briefing now about what happened.” Naija News reports that the English Premier League club has also issued a statement regarding the incident. “We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent who has told us he’s in hospital and is not seriously hurt. Our thoughts are with Pablo and the other victims of this dreadful incident,” the club’s statement reads.
