Another Jab at Soludo As Court Invalidates His Candidature.
Imo state High Court, on Wednesday, Invalidates Prof Chukwuma Soludo’s candidature as the authentic standard-bearer of All Progressive Grand Alliance-APGA in the November 6th gubernatorial election in Anambra state.
In the judgement delivered by Justice B. C Iheka, the affirmed APGA convention that took place in Owerri on May 31, 2019, produced Chief Edozie Njoku as the party head.
The court also accorded credence to the Party’s NEC meeting held on the 15th of June, 2021, where Jude Okeke was appointed the acting Chairman of the party.
The court further instructed Independent National Electoral Commission-INEC to accord such recognition to Jude Okeke as the acting National Chairman of APGA and treat the primary his faction held on July 1, 2021, which produced Chukwuma Umeoji as the Party’s standard-bearer, as the authentic primary of the party.
It is worth recalling that Soludo emerged APGA Candidate through the primary held by the Victor Oye-led faction of the party. The current development nullifies Oye as the National Chairman of the party and also Soludo’s candidature.
