Abia speaker has raised the bar in human and Infrastructural development of Umuahia Constituency and beyond—-PDP Stalwart, Iroegbulam

A former Special Adviser to Abia State Governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chukwuemeka Iroegbulam has harped on the need for youths to participate in political decision process of the state and the nation.

This was even as the Abia party chieftain applauded the sterling leadership qualities of ex-majority leader and current Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji.

Speaking during an interview with select journalists in Umuahia, on Friday, Chief Iroegbulam, said the Abia speaker has demonstrated uncommon leadership anchored on Infrastructures, youth, men and women empowerment and development, positing that the number one lawmaker in the state exhibited capacity in the running of the affairs of the State Assembly.

He lauded the speaker’s sustainable empowerment Programmes for the youths, and also noted that Hon Chinedum Orji has continued to identify with the youths through his political activities and project implementation aimed at addressing unemployment and restiveness associated with the youths.

According to the business mogul, “without sounding patronizing, Engr Chinedum Orji, have silently given employment to over 1000 youths whom today are taking care of their families. He has assisted many considered to be unemployable into owners of businesses and employers of labour today. Over 500 youths who benefitted from his skill acquisition program and are trained in ICT today, are experts in website development, graphics design, digital marketing, mobile application development. I don’t want to talk about those he gave vehicles, and tricycles whom today are making a living from there. What about MSME operators whom he empowered with needed work tools such as power generating sets, barbing kits, grinding machines, hairdressing equipment etc”.

Iroegbulam called on Abia youths to remain steadfast in their support to the speaker and as well, encourage him to vie for higher office where he will Garner the required leverage to empower and develop the youths more.

The prominent Abia politician the youths at home and diaspora to venture into politics and contest for elective positions in order to make a change, not to sit on the fence to criticize leaders.

“We should come out and join forces to move Abia forward. Abia belongs to all of us and we all can collectively drive the development of the state by being active participants in politics in our various localities. We should encourage our people to get their voters cards and come out to vote for the candidate of their choice. Time have gone when people claim that votes does not count; today votes count and we have seen it count in many places. This is the turn of the youths and we must maximize our chances by coming out to play active politics which is the routes we can determine the future we desire”, he stated.

Iroegbulam further admonished the people of the Abia state to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and vote out failed and non performing public office holders.

The Ekenobizi Umuopara-born tycoon however used the medium to pledge his unshaken support and endorsement to the Clarion calls by the great people of Ikwuano/Umuahia extraction of Abia state on Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji to join the race for the governorship seat of Abia State ahead of the upcoming 2023 general election in the state, opining that the Abia House of Assembly Speaker has requisite capacity to turn around the fortunes of God’s Own State given his overwhelming and outstanding track records in politicking and human capital development.
