2023: Rep Onyejiocha tackles oppositions over Bola Tinubu’s presidential bid
Those against the choice of former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming 2023 general elections has been queried by member of the House of Representatives and a chieftain of the APC from Abia State, Nkeiruka Onyejiocha.
Speaking her mind on the criticisms trailing Bola Tinubu’s emergence as the presidential standard-bearer of the party, Onyejiocha who currently represents the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency of Abia State at the national assembly insisted that Nigeria cannot afford to go backwards and that the APC represents progress and a brighter future.
She, however, admitted that Nigeria is facing some challenges, positing that there’s no challenge-free country anywhere in the world.
The federal lawmaker said, “there’s no challenge free nation anywhere in the world. Nigeria is part of the world.
“It is true that we are facing some challenges, but the present government is working hard to ensure we overcome our challenges as a nation.
“Our party APC needs the support of Nigerians across the states because we are better than the rest.
“We have a presidential candidate who is a nationalist, a builder of men and women, an achiever.
She submitted, “Tinubu’s emergence is the best thing that happened to APC.
“A man with no record of discrimination against gender, tribe, and religion
“Why not Tinubu ? A man whose good deeds are already speaking for him”.
On Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency seat 2023 race, Onyejeocha, who doubles as Chief Whip of the House, reiterated that she’s working hard with her constituents for greater representation.
“My constituents are my topmost priority. I am a village woman. I know my people.
“They also know me and they love me. I believe my people are with me.
“It is my desire to do more good and I will always try my best.
“I want to be remembered for making a positive impact in my constituency.
“2023 is about the progress of Nigeria. It is about our people and our nationhood”.
