2023: ‘PDP, APC Crisis Blessing In Disguise For LP’

2023: Atiku, Peter Obi Are No Threat To Tinubu - Onanuga

A stakeholder in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday said the crisis rocking the party and the All Progressives Congress (APC) might be a blessing in disguise for the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

PDP in the past few months has been trying to reconcile the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. There are also calls for the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu to step down from office for peace to reign ahead of the 2023 race. On the path of the APC, the ruling party is battling with its controversial Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket. There are also issues with the composition of the party’s presidential campaign council. The source who spoke with Vanguard noted that the Rivers State Governor, Wike might support Obi in 2023 without leaving the PDP. According to the source, Governor Wike and his allies met in London last week on the presidential they would support. The source further stated that the Rivers State Governor might not meet with Tinubu as earlier reported. There had been claims that Wike and his allies would meet with the APC presidential candidate in London. The, however, was not held as they all returned to Nigeria on Monday after strategizing ahead of the 2023 race The source said, “So, God may decide to cause confusion in the two big parties and help Peter Obi become the next President. God may be behind the crises in the APC and PDP to favour the Labour Party.”
